Youthful, sensual fashion label, Just Cavalli, is back with another strong modern collection of bold prints and colours. For Spring/Summer 2011, the brand created a carnival atmosphere with bright, tropical hues, soft silk and chiffon. Bringing together an eclectic mix of prints, from floral to safari, the collection has no lack of fashion fantasies.

Just Cavalli – Clash Of The Prints
As the sister line to the designer’s main label, it is hardly surprising that Roberto Cavalli’s love of loud prints is reflected in Just Cavalli as well. This younger, hipper brand makes clothes for the unabashedly flamboyant scenester crowd. For its A/W10 collection, the message is mixed and influenced by various genres of fashion. While it can conventionally be described as ‘glam grunge’, bohemian, Ottoman and even disco elements can be found in the outfits that came down the runway.
The collection oozes extravagance and excess, which is the trademark of this veteran designer. The looks consist of visually striking wearable separates that are layered print-on-print for maximum effect. Models strutted down the runway in ultra modern, streamlined silhouettes, sporting fur, flannel shirts, leather mini-skirts, patchwork sweaters and outrageous leggings.
Expect the label’s signature leopard print (in various forms and colours) but also look out for the graphic patterns found on the loud leggings that accompany almost every look. Taking centre stage this season, these printed leggings are best worn with a monochromatic ensemble.
Printed bottoms may not be an easy look to carry off, but it is certainly one of the hottest new trends this season. From leopard print leggings to sequined pants, Just Cavalli has it covered. In particular, the gold brocade or sequined drainpipe pants are surprisingly flattering and definitely luxurious when paired with a light chiffon top or even a shearling-trimmed leather jacket.
After the youthful but sophisticated city chic that dominates the first half of the collection, Just Cavalli follows up with darker, sexier pieces of leather and lace. Cropped leather jackets, sleek mini-dresses with graphic details and sensual lace tops set the stage for the experienced urban warrior to take on the metropolis.
