trioon – Resort Collection 2011
Local label trioon’s latest Resort 2011 collection continues to reflect the brand’s signature understated chic aesthetics. This season, trioon’s winning formula of seeking to accentuate a woman’s curves, sensuality and individual style is applied to clothes that are made with the jet-setting, working woman in mind. Inspired by Dora, an art buyer from New York who is in town to attend Art Stage Singapore, the colour palette, consisting of ivory, metallic praline, mustard, raspberry and black, marks a comfortable transition from fall to spring. The outfits are designed to suit the lifestyle of the confident, modern urbanite. From air travel and art openings to business meetings and after-hours drinks, there is a look to suit every occasion.
In the spirit of the Great Singapore Sale, trioon will also be offering up to 40% off its past seasons. Drop by its store at Mandarin Gallery to check out the sale rack and while you are at it, take a look at freshly launched jersey dresses (in Navy, Cobalt Blue, Taupe and Black) and cosy long cardigans in elegant Ivory.
For the first time ever, a selection of statement-making fabric necklaces from Singapore accessories label, L’ile aux Ashby, will be available exclusively at trioon. Made of delicate lace and braided chiffon, they are fabulous companions to trioon’s womanly, sassy and relaxed creations.

Street Chic – Know Your Designers
It is a shame that most Singaporeans are more familiar with high profile international brands than with their own home-grown design talents. To set this right, get to know the designers behind three successful local labels. Each with his or her own winning signature style, they will make a fan of you in no time!
Ashley Isham
Although a native Singaporean, Ashley Isham’s fashion sensitivity was shaped during his education in cosmopolitan London. Bringing together influences from both cities, his signature style of dramatic draping and strong tailoring was established right away and became an instant hit in the entertainment and fashion circles. Countless celebrities, including the formidable Lady Gaga, have been seen in his clothes.
Who is the Ashley Isham girl?
Fiercely feminine with a penchant for drama, the Ashley Isham girl loves dressing up and is not afraid to stand out from the crowd. Her style is sleek and modern – even her daywear has the dazzling effect typical of eveningwear.
The Ashley Isham store and that of its sister line, A.I by Ashley Isham, are located respectively at #02-21 and #02-15, Mandarin Gallery
Jo Soh (hansel)
The Central St. Martins 1st Class Honours graduate burst onto the scene during the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in 2003 with her signature modern take on retro-inspired style and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Jo Soh gained valuable experience from her days freelancing as a stylist and an illustrator, which is reflected in her work as designer of her fashion label hansel.
Who is the hansel girl?
The words ‘quirky’ and ‘playful’ come to mind when one thinks of the hansel girl, but she is also modern and confident. Often colourful and always wearable, hansel’s creations blend a girlie charm and clever cheekiness with an understated elegance.

Liu Wei Ling (Trioon)
The unusual name of her label is derived from the title of a memorable tune by Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto. As with the tune, which fuses piano melody with electronic beats, Liu Wei Ling’s designs for Trioon are tailored thoughtfully to bring out the best of the classic and contemporary. With flattering cuts and intricate details, these are versatile clothes that will stand the test of time.
Who is the Trioon girl?
Believing that fashion fades and style is eternal, the Trioon girl likes to fill her wardrobe with understated, classic pieces. Her clean, minimalist style brings her from day to night.

Trioon – Inflorescence
To round up the year on a cheery note, local label Trioon’s latest and last collection for 2010, Inflorescence, is inspired by an elegant garden party with comfortably dressed guests. Featuring colourful floral prints and flower appliqués, the pieces are designed to be feminine and versatile. They will look equally fabulous at work, for dates or even at a casual weekend brunch. With only eight pieces available per design, the collection is also exclusive so you can rest assured knowing that it is highly unlikely to bump into someone else with the same outfit at a Christmas party.
The collection takes a refreshing approach to florals. Instead of presenting a bright, summery palette, white on white is one of the key themes. Soft ruffles and floral appliqués give the classic white shirt a trendier look and add to the girlie appeal of a simple cap-sleeved dress with a ruche down the middle. If you are looking for something more colourful, this flattering white dress with a bold floral graphic on one side will fit the bill.
Also look out for the Trioon signature blouse – it is back with a twist! Now embellished with four delicate organza flowers, the sleeveless sheer white cotton top is a pretty staple that you can reach for again and again. This collection will definitely help you end 2010 in style!
